Job Description
Job Title: Junior Security Operations Specialist Role Summary: Supports the security posture of the organization by monitoring systems, detecting threats, responding to incidents, managing vulnerabilities, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Works closely with IT, compliance, risk management, and internal stakeholders to mitigate risks and improve security processes. Expactations: - Perform day‑to‑day security monitoring and incident response. - Maintain and enhance security tools and automation. - Communicate security findings and recommendations to technical and non‑technical audiences. - Support compliance reporting and documentation. - Collaborate on vulnerability assessments and remediation. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and other security infrastructure. - Identify, analyze, and triage security alerts; execute incident containment and recovery. - Conduct vulnerability scans, security audits, and patch management coordination. - Lead forensic investigations of breaches and produce detailed incident reports. - Draft and maintain compliance documentation (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, etc.). - Automate repetitive security tasks using scripting and security tooling. - Deliver security awareness training and best‑practice guidance. - Evaluate and recommend new security solutions and process improvements. Required Skills: - Strong knowledge of SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, vulnerability scanning, and incident response. - Analytical and problem‑solving abilities; prioritization of complex security issues. - Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. - Attention to detail in incident analysis and documentation. - Bilingual: English and Spanish. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (equivalent experience accepted). - Preferable 2 years’ experience in security operations or IT security. - Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+ (or comparable).
