Job Description
**Job Title:** Relationship Manager – Commercial Real Estate **Role Summary:** Support the Head of Commercial Real Estate in originating, structuring, and managing lending relationships across UK CRE sectors (hotels, student accommodation, offices, residential portfolios, development finance). Deliver credit analysis, oversee client onboarding, and ensure compliance with governance and financial‑crime policies on a 1‑year maternity contract (potential extension). **Expectations:** - Achieve financial and non‑financial targets while maintaining risk discipline. - Deliver high‑quality credit applications, reviews, and documentation within tight deadlines. - Uphold regulatory, governance, and anti‑financial‑crime standards. - Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients/advisors. **Key Responsibilities:** - Prepare detailed credit proposals and annual reviews, assessing industry, market, and borrower risk. - Manage KYC, onboarding, and periodic reviews for new and existing CRE clients. - Coordinate internal teams (Credit, Treasury, Operations, Compliance, etc.) to execute lending facilities. - Negotiate and document loan agreements; monitor watchlist and impaired credits. - Maintain disciplined portfolio oversight and support credit approval processes. - Respond to financial‑crime queries, conduct due diligence, and report suspicious activity. **Required Skills:** - Strong credit analysis and structured transaction assessment. - Advanced financial modelling and spreadsheet proficiency. - In‑depth knowledge of UK CRE market dynamics across multiple asset classes. - Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication in a multicultural environment. - High attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and independent work ethic. - Ability to balance commercial judgement with risk discipline. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or related field. - 5–7 years’ experience in CRE relationship management, preferably within an institutional lending environment. - Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CFA, RICS) are advantageous but not mandatory.
