Job Title: Senior System Administrator
Role Summary:
Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of AWS-hosted production infrastructure and Microsoft cloud services for a 50‑employee healthcare billing organization. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and FERPA, manage identity, endpoints, backups, and disaster recovery, while providing tier‑2/3 technical support and continual operational improvement.
Expectations:
- Own end‑to‑end health and security of cloud and on‑prem infrastructure.
- Maintain strict adherence to healthcare compliance requirements.
- Execute proactive monitoring, incident response, and documentation.
- Provide escalated support for Microsoft Power BI/Fabric environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. **AWS Infrastructure Management** – administer EC2, RDS, S3, IAM; monitor performance, apply patches, scale resources.
2. **Identity & Security Administration** – configure and administer Microsoft Entra ID, M365, Dynamics CRM; enforce least‑privilege access, MFA, and identity governance.
3. **Endpoint Management** – deploy and maintain Microsoft Intune and Defender for Endpoint; zero‑touch provisioning and threat remediation on Windows and macOS.
4. **Backup & Disaster Recovery** – manage Rubrik backups; develop, test, and document DR plans; conduct regular recovery drills.
5. **Compliance & Auditing** – implement HIPAA/FERPA safeguards; prepare audit documentation and support external reviews.
6. **Technical Support & Escalation** – handle tier‑2/3 incidents, coordinate with DevOps, and provide root‑cause analysis.
7. **Documentation & Process Improvement** – create clear SOPs, network diagrams, configuration inventories, and knowledge‑base articles.
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of systems or cloud administration experience.
- Deep knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Defender for Endpoint, M365, Dynamics CRM.
- Experience with endpoint security, zero‑touch provisioning, and threat analytics.
- Backup platform expertise (Rubrik preferred, other solutions acceptable).
- Disaster recovery planning, testing, and documentation.
- Solid understanding of HIPAA/FERPA regulatory requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication; excellent documentation habits.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve tier‑2/3 issues across cloud, identity, and endpoint domains.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert (M365) or Azure AD Administrator Associate.
- Microsoft Certified: Security Administrator Associate (Defender for Endpoint/Identity).
- Additional backup or DR certifications beneficial but not mandatory.
