Job Description
**Job Title** Financial Assistant **Role Summary** Support all facets of financial reporting and operational finance within a financial brokerage. Deliver weekly reports, manage month‑end close, maintain ledgers, and oversee billing, credit control, and project finance. **Expectations** - Proactive, highly organised workload management. - Strong financial acumen and analytics. - Self‑starter with autonomy over key processes. - Collaborative across small finance team and broader business. **Key Responsibilities** - Prepare & distribute weekly financial reports. - Assist quarterly VAT returns and annual audit. - Reconcile balance sheets (leases, fixed assets). - Manage month‑end close for sub‑ledgers. - Own sales ledger: billing, maintenance, and client invoicing. - Monitor budgets, prepare journals (accruals, prepayments, deferred income). - Run debtor balances and credit control. - Maintain contract database; improve financial KPIs. - Coordinate with Account Managers on fee/accounting accuracy. - Conduct ad‑hoc finance projects & data sense‑checks. - Ensure compliance with finance/internal audit procedures. - Provide Accounts Payable cover as needed. **Required Skills** - NetSuite proficiency (hands‑on). - Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUP, pivots, formulas). - Strong numeracy, analytical reasoning. - Excellent organisational & deadline‑management. - Fast learner, flexible, proactive. - Experience in financial services finance role; small team experience desirable. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or related field (if specified). - No mandatory certifications stated.
