Job Description: Job Title: AI Engineer & Data Science Team Lead Role Summary: Lead a small team of data scientists to design, develop, and deploy large‑language‑model (LLM) driven AI applications that extract actionable insights from unstructured data and support strategic drug access initiatives. Expectations: • Manage 3–4 data scientists, setting technical vision and ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery. • Serve as a hands‑on engineer in research, model development, and production system building. • Collaborate with founders to shape product roadmap and technical direction. Key Responsibilities: 1. Deliver agentic LLM applications that translate complex business problems into measurable outcomes. 2. End‑to‑end project manage AI initiatives, balancing scope, schedule, and quality. 3. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. 4. Co‑design system architecture with engineering, defining scalable data pipelines and model deployment mechanisms. 5. Conduct research and prototype advanced analytics, including prompt engineering and ontology construction from large‑scale unstructured data. Required Skills: - Expertise in LLM development, prompt engineering, and production deployment. - Strong conceptual and analytical thinking, with the ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured data science solutions. - Experience managing a data science or AI team (minimum 1 year). - Proficiency in Python, SQL, and popular ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow). - Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CI/CD pipelines for AI. - Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration. Required Education & Certifications: - PhD (or equivalent) in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Computational Biology, Statistics, etc.) with ≥3 years industry experience; OR Bachelor's/Master’s with ≥7 years industry experience in finance, biotech, or tech startups. - Proven track record of delivering production‑ready AI solutions.
