Role: AI Engineer & Data Science Team Lead

We’re looking for a data-driven problem solver to lead our AI Engineer and Data Science team. You will leverage large language models (LLMs) to transform unstructured data into ontologies and actionable insights that drive drug launches and access strategies. Leading and mentoring a team of 3–4 data scientists, you will set technical direction, manage projects, and remain hands-on in building scalable, production-ready AI applications at the intersection of AI and healthcare.

Quantile Health - Building AI Agents to Expand Patient Access

Quantile Health is a New York–based, seed-stage AI startup building agentic applications to expand access to transformative medicines and reduce commercial costs for drug innovators.

What You’ll Do

Lead and deliver agentic LLM applications that drive business impactful business outcome
Project manage AI initiatives end-to-end, ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery, while mentoring and developing a team of 3–4 data scientists
Partner with founders to define and drive the product roadmap and technical direction
Remain hands-on in research, model development, and building production-ready AI systems
Work closely with the Engineering team to design system architecture, internal tools, and scalable data and model infrastructure

What We’re Looking For

A strong conceptual thinker who turns complex, ambiguous business challenges into clear, structured data problems
Passionate about LLMs and real-world AI applications, with a pragmatic, impact-driven mindset
PhD in a quantitative field (CS, Computational Biology, Statistics, etc.) with 3+ years of industry experience, OR Bachelor’s/Master’s degree with 7+ years of industry experience in finance, biotech, or tech startups
1+ year of team management experience
Hands-on experience building AI applications, including prompt engineering, advanced analytics, and transforming large-scale unstructured data into production-ready solutions

Compensation & Benefits

Cash compensation range: $195,000 - $275,000

Location: Hudson Yards, NYC (on-site 3 days a week)
