Job title: Infrastructure & Automation Manager
Role Summary:
Lead and manage a team of infrastructure engineers during a large-scale migration from on‑premise to cloud environments. Drive automation, governance and continuous improvement across all IT services, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
Expectations:
* Deliver strategic direction and day‑to‑day oversight of infrastructure operations.
* Own automation roadmap and lead adoption of IaC, CI/CD, and configuration management.
* Facilitate seamless cloud migration and support hybrid‑cloud architecture implementation.
* Maintain quality, security, compliance, and cost‑efficiency across the estate.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct the delivery, performance and lifecycle of on‑premise, cloud and hybrid infrastructure.
* Own end‑to‑end execution of the cloud migration program, ensuring minimal disruption.
* Translate reference architectures into production‑ready solutions in partnership with Architecture.
* Define and enforce automation standards (IaC, CI/CD, scripting) and drive tooling adoption.
* Identify and eliminate manual processes, improving reliability and reducing overhead.
* Coach, develop and manage a high‑performing infrastructure and automation team.
* Prioritise work, delegate tasks and align initiatives with broader technology strategy.
* Act as key stakeholder liaison, delivering status updates and expert guidance.
* Manage vendor relationships and the infrastructure/automation budget, including procurement and cost optimisation.
* Develop, maintain and enforce IT policies, standards and best practices (security, DR, compliance).
Required Skills:
* 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and automation.
* Strong system administration background with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
* Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
* Solid knowledge of IT security principles, data protection regulations and disaster recovery.
* Excellent project management, Agile methodology experience, and stakeholder communication.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
Required Education & Certifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
* Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator preferred.
