Job Title: Subsea Technical Manager
Role Summary: Senior technical lead overseeing the design, fabrication, testing, handover, and support of a major subsea equipment package for an LNG development project. Manages all subsea production systems, umbilicals, distribution systems, valves, and onshore support modules, ensuring compliance with technical, quality, and schedule objectives while coordinating across international fabrication sites.
Expectations: Deliver full technical accountability for subsea systems, maintain rigorous documentation, manage engineering interfaces, validate mechanical completion, and lead risk and change management. Serve as the primary technical liaison throughout construction, installation, and commissioning, and deputize for the Subsea Package Manager as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical execution of subsea production systems, umbilicals, distribution systems, valves, controls, and onshore support modules.
- Review, challenge, and formally accept contractor technical deliverables.
- Develop, maintain, and update project technical documentation, specifications, and technical notes.
- Manage engineering interfaces with installation, operations, onshore facilities, and other project packages.
- Validate mechanical completion, testing, qualification, and readiness for handover.
- Oversee preservation, storage, and maintenance activities for subsea equipment.
- Identify, assess, and manage technical risks and change requests.
- Act as technical focal point during construction, installation, and commissioning.
- Coordinate with fabrication yards and inspection teams for timely, compliant delivery.
- Support preparation of offshore and onshore installation campaigns.
- Contribute to HSE, quality, cost, and schedule objectives for the subsea package.
- Deputize for the Subsea Package Manager when required.
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of subsea production systems, umbilicals, flowlines, and control systems.
- Proven experience managing complex multi‑disciplinary interfaces across multiple locations.
- Strong understanding of international subsea codes, standards, and best practices.
- Ability to review and formally accept technical documentation.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Solutions‑focused, pragmatic approach to problem solving in fast‑paced environments.
- Leadership and coordination abilities for technical teams.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Degree‑qualified engineer (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of subsea project execution experience, with at least 5 years in a technical coordination or leadership role.
- Knowledge of international subsea codes and standards (e.g., ISO, API, IEC).
