Offshore Geotechnical Engineer - London

We are seeking an experienced Offshore Geotechnical Engineer to support the planning, execution, and interpretation of offshore geotechnical investigations for major offshore wind, oil & gas, and subsea infrastructure projects.
The role covers the full spectrum of offshore ground investigation planning, geotechnical data interpretation, foundation design support, and preparation of technical documentation. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and technically robust solutions for offshore structures.

Key Responsibilities
Plan offshore geotechnical site investigations, defining scopes of work and appropriate testing methods (CPT, vibrocore, boreholes, etc.).
Analyse geotechnical and laboratory test data to derive soil parameters (strength, stiffness, consolidation).
Develop Geotechnical Interpretive Reports (GIRs) and Foundation Design Reports (FDRs).
Provide geotechnical input for the design and installation of piles, suction caissons, and shallow foundations.
Conduct pile analyses, installation assessments, and feasibility evaluations.
Support FEED and detailed engineering design phases.
Ensure compliance with international standards including ISO, API, and DNV.
Participate in HAZID / HAZOP reviews and support risk management activities.
Review third-party geotechnical deliverables to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Collaborate with structural, installation, and subsea teams to integrate geotechnical recommendations.
Candidate Profile
Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
5–10 years’ experience in offshore geotechnical engineering, preferably on large offshore wind or subsea projects.
Strong technical skills in geotechnical data interpretation, soil–structure interaction, and foundation design.
Experience with industry software such as PLAXIS, ABAQUS, and GRLWEAP.
Familiarity with offshore investigation methods, laboratory testing, and geotechnical risk management.
Strong communication and report-writing skills.
Able to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Must have full UK right to work (no sponsorship available).
