Job Description
Job title: Field Service Technician Role Summary: Provide on‑site installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of advanced mail opening and document scanning automation systems for office and warehouse customers. Deliver high‑quality customer service while ensuring system reliability and uptime. Expectations: - Install, commission, and test equipment before handover. - Conduct preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and software issues, and apply service updates. - Train users and maintain accurate service records. - Communicate clearly with customers, providing progress updates and fostering positive relationships. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, test, and commission new automated equipment. - Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on automation and document handling systems. - Update software and hardware components per technical bulletins. - Train customers on safe operation, maintenance procedures, and best practices. - Provide regular status reports, maintenance logs, and expense submissions. - Collaborate with technical support teams to resolve complex issues and share feedback for system improvement. - Uphold service standards and represent the company positively in all interactions. Required Skills: - Proven field‑service experience in automation or mechanical/electrical maintenance. - Strong diagnostic, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting abilities. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams. - Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. - Physical ability to lift equipment and operate in varied environments. - Full, clean UK driving licence. Required Education & Certifications: - Technical or engineering diploma in mechanical, electrical, or automation disciplines. - Certifications related to automation, maintenance, or electrical safety (e.g., NICEIC, IPC, or equivalent) are preferred. ---
