Location: Sheffield, UK - Hybrid - (weekly 2-3 Days in office)
Job Description:
We are hiring a Service Manager to lead the reliability, performance, and operational support of banking applications in a cloud-native, microservices-based environment. The role requires strong expertise in managing distributed systems and ensuring continuous service improvement in a 24x7 support model.
Key Responsibilities:
Enhance system availability, latency, performance, and operational efficiency through effective monitoring, change management, and incident response.
Participate in production deployments and configurations, ensuring minimal disruption.
Proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact clients or production environments.
Coordinate with engineering and QA teams to identify and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
Analyze incident trends, recommend long-term solutions, and drive post-incident reviews.
Maintain knowledge of banking domain processes including Cards, Payments, Lending, and Onboarding.
Key Skills:
Cloud Platforms: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes
Architecture: Microservices DevOps & CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus3, CI/CD pipelines
Monitoring & Tools: APM tools, JIRA, Mule Domain Knowledge: Banking - Cards, Payments, Lending, Onboarding Other: Strong communication, leadership in cross-functional coordination
Preferred Certifications:
Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Kubernetes
ITIL Foundation
