Primary Talent Partners has an exciting opportunity for a 24 month W2 contract as a Software Test Engineer with a large finance client of ours in the O'Fallon, MO area!

Job Title: Software Test Engineer
Length: 24 month W2 contract
Location: O'Fallon, MO (Hybrid)
Pay Range: $70.00-$77.00/hr

Role and Responsibilities
Develop and test applications using the latest Java/J2EE standards, with strong proficiency in Java 11.
Demonstrate excellent coding skills, including writing clean, maintainable, and testable code.
Have hands-on experience with API backend, frontend testing, and automation.
Be proficient in SQL, with the ability to write and optimize queries.
Possess excellent communication skills with strong Agile knowledge.
Work with Business/Systems Analysts and Quality Engineers in a behavioral-driven development environment.
Develop Microservices in a Cloud-based environment.
Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders.
Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, develop, test, deploy, configure, document) to meet business requirements.
Automate build, operate, and run aspects of software.
Drive code/design/process trade-off discussions within the team when required.
Mentor and guide new and less-experienced team members.
Drive adoption of technology standards and engineering principles.
Assist with problem resolution and troubleshooting during Regression, UAT, and customer testing efforts.
Partner with the group representative for core releases and out-of-release projects by reviewing project requirements, application design documents, and announcements to understand potential impacts on the testing environments.
Qualifications
Experience working on large production systems with high transaction volumes.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and proactive problem prevention.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Experience with continuous integration tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Chef, Cruise Control, etc.
Experience with code coverage and health reporting tools such as Sonar.
Complete code reviews and mentor peers and more junior team members.
Ideal Candidate Skills
Advanced skills and knowledge of testing frameworks and techniques.
Cloud Development Experience - PCF, AWS, Azure.
Ability to innovate and develop new approaches to complex design problems.
Experience with various architectural patterns including high performance, high availability transaction processing systems, and multi-tiered web applications.
Self-motivated with the ability to accomplish tasks with minimal direction.
Loves being in a collaborative, team environment.
Ability to define and elaborate both functional and non-functional requirements.
Skills to understand, report, and optimize delivery metrics (e.g., velocity, throughput, lead time, burndown).
Ability to understand and breakdown requirements from a customer testing point of view to produce customer test cases.
CI/CD setup to support test automation.
Familiarity with secure coding standards and vulnerability management.
Skills in test-driven development to build just enough code and collaborate on the desired functionality.
Familiarity with tools (e.g., Sonar, Checkmarx, Black Duck) to scan and measure code quality and anti-patterns.
Ability to develop and document test strategy following Client testing standards.
Understands defect management processes to facilitate root cause analysis and learnings.
Skills to orchestrate release workflows and pipelines to enhance CICD using orchestration tools (e.g., Jenkins).
