About the role:
The Safety team at Samsara is the anchor point from which we have built a great business extending AI into physical operations. We build intelligent systems that combine computer vision, sensor data, road context, and behavioral patterns to detect risk and prevent accidents before they happen for some of the largest fleets in the world.
In this role, you'll be all about using AI to understand the world and the risk it poses so that vehicles have safety critical information readily available before they arrive at a certain location. Examples of this include: detecting changes in weather to update driving risk and policies, understanding locations of construction zones and their details to alter driving behavior accordingly, understanding what intersections pose the highest risks and why, etc. Samsara is currently saving hundreds of lives every year, and by better understanding the patterns of risk, we hope that you will help us take this to the next level!
This is a remote position open to candidates residing anywhere in Canada. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.

In this role, you will:
Own the strategy, roadmap, and execution of the AI Maps product area, balancing speed of delivery with long-term value.
Work with our talented engineering teams to launch new products to help drive a fast-growing, at-scale business with $1 Billion+ in ARR.
Collaborate closely with customers to deeply understand their business, their product feedback, and inform our roadmap.
Identify new product opportunities and own them from concept to launch.
Act as a product owner, ensuring every detail of the user experience meets high standards.
Lead by example in using AI tools to accelerate product development, customer research, and decision-making
Partner with our Sales team to help close strategic customer accounts as needed.
Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
Minimum requirements for the role:
8+ years of product management experience or other relevant experience, with a proven track record of launching 0-to-1 products and driving business outcomes.
Strong B2B SaaS background, with experience working directly with enterprise customers.
Hands-on approach, with the ability to dive into details, from defining features to demoing products and supporting sales.
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a knack for simplifying complex problems and focusing on customer impact.
Technical aptitude, with the ability to work closely with technical teams and understand how to deliver high-quality solutions.
Strong ownership mentality, with a willingness to go above and beyond to deliver exceptional results.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present ideas clearly to customers and internal teams.
