Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (Python/Angular/AWS) | Hybrid in Charlotte, NC

Optomi, in partnership with a leading energy and innovation organization, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer for a hybrid role based in Charlotte, NC. This engineer will be a key member of the Enterprise Technology & Innovation division, contributing to the development of high-impact, customer-facing web applications. These platforms support critical user groups including builders, inspectors, property managers, and large commercial customers.

This is a hands-on development position with a strong backend focus (60% backend / 40% frontend), emphasizing cloud-native solutions using Python, Angular, Terraform, and AWS services.

Experience of the right candidate:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or 5+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
7+ years of software development experience.
Strong backend development skills using Python.
Solid front-end experience using Angular.
Proven experience working with AWS cloud services and Terraform.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum/XP methodologies.
Ability to independently own and lead features while collaborating cross-functionally.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Git/GitHub and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
Familiarity with Kafka or Data Fabric.
Bash scripting experience.
Exposure to security and code quality tools (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify).
Prior work in customer-focused application development environments.

Responsibilities of the right candidate:

Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications in a cloud-native environment.
Collaborate with product owners, designers, and other engineers to define and implement new features.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following best practices.
Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to team knowledge sharing.

Apply secure coding principles and ensure high performance and resilience across applications.
