Job Summary (Lead Cloud/DevOps Engineer
Lead the cloud platform team, developing and implementing strategies and standards for automated cloud infrastructure deployment with a product-focused approach.
Oversee application development and hosting, including engineering, deployment, and operational management of cloud infrastructure.
Hands-on role requiring strong programming and IaC (Infrastructure as Code) skills, especially in Azure, Terraform, GitHub, and Ansible.
Collaborate with multiple product and platform teams to support complex digital transformation initiatives across the business.
Drive organization-level reliability, security, scalability, and observability principles.
Mentor and coach less experienced team members.
Build and manage Azure cloud infrastructure products following Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework (e.g., foundation services, landing zones, app patterns).
Manage and automate DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipeline setup and configuration.
Proactively drive improvements and innovation in the cloud and IaC technology stack to deliver business value.
Promote shared services, scalable solutions, and best practices organization-wide.
Design solution-dependent architectures per industry best practices and business requirements.
Enhance cloud product reliability, availability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness, developing fault-tolerant tools and solutions.
Automate and streamline development, operations, and testing processes.
Build, maintain, and support integration between application CI/CD pipelines and the software development lifecycle.
Provide guidance and support to cloud developers for optimizing and automating cloud engineering activities.
Apply agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) and use related tools (e.g., Azure DevOps).
Required skills: 3-4+ years in Azure as a DevOps Engineer; strong experience with Terraform, GitHub, Ansible; lead experience.
Preferred skills: Python, Open Policy Agent (OPA), Backstage, Packer; on-prem to cloud migration experience.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience (including 4 years in cloud strategy, architecture, and implementation), or equivalent.
