Title: Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid in Reston, VA

Terms of Employment

* W2 Contract-to-Hire, 12 months

Overview

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to ensure business needs for changes to processes, policies, and information systems are identified, understood, and documented. The successful candidate will assist in gathering and synthesizing business requirements for low-complexity software and systems, translating them into specifications to meet business objectives. This role serves as a functional expert and the conduit between the business area and the technical or software development team.

Responsibilities

* Interpret business needs and issues by gathering, eliciting, analyzing, and documenting user and technical requirements.

* Participate in the creation of requirements documentation and project plans to define and schedule requirements management activities.

* Serve as a liaison between business and technical teams to ensure requirements are met during development and design reviews.

* Oversee user acceptance testing, including documentation, verification, and release.

* Identify and document gaps in requirement adherence or system defects and coordinate issue resolution.

* Provide guidance and training to application end-users.

* Identify, document, and troubleshoot problems in systems, software, and processes.

* Review, analyze, and create detailed documentation of business systems and user needs.

* Monitor and report project status to identify and mitigate risks and ensure timely deliverables.

* Coordinate assigned projects from concept through implementation.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; an additional four years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.

* 3-5 years of experience in functional, operational, business, data, systems, or testing analysis.

* Experience with ServiceNow ITSM module implementation.

* Experience with large-scale business transformation of organizations from legacy systems to ITSM.

* Previous experience working with the ServiceNow application.

* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

* Strong time-management and organizational skills.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

* Ability to organize stakeholder meetings.

* Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, effective deliverables on time.

* Moderate understanding of business analysis core competencies.
