The France Corporate Controllership team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial statements of the French legal entities, in adherence with US and French GAAPs, maintaining control over month-end close and delivering accurate and timely local statutory and regulatory reporting. The Team is committed to excellence, talent development, encouraging work/life balance, and timely recognition of team members.
How will you make an impact in this role?
The Finance Manager reports to the France Director Controller and will manage a Team of 2-3 colleagues. This position is responsible for the Accounting and Reporting oversight of the Merchant Acquirer entity and two Holding entities, in coordination with the offshore Centers of Excellence.
Responsibilities:
Ensure control over US GAAP month-end close, including timely detection and closure of accounting anomalies, in adherence with GAAP and Amex Finance/ Accounting Policies
Deliver month-end legal reporting analysis
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of regulatory/statutory reporting for all local legal entities
Lead the local regular control of balance sheet reconciliations of the French Legal Entities
Document key business transactions/ accounting changes and ensure up-to-date documentation of accounting processes by the Team
Support external statutory audit review
Provide local Controllership support to Finance/ Business projects and external parties (e.g. Tax Advisers)
Develop and engage a Team of 2-3 Financial Analysts
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in Accounting or Finance
6-10 years' experience in Finance, Audit and/or Accounting. Financial industry a plus
Strong technical accounting background and knowledge of US GAAP and French GAAP (IFRS is a plus)
Proven people leadership skills
Strong ability to manage time and effectively prioritize tasks under tight deadlines
Strong capacity to analyze results and data to ensure accuracy and completeness
Effective relationship manager with good influencing skills to collaborate effectively with other groups
Proactive in looking for opportunities to improve current processes
Fluid English verbal and written communication skills
Advanced Excel, PowerPoint. SmartView, Tableau, OBI or prior Lumi BigQuery/ Cornerstone experience is a plus
