Role: Rapid Application Developer (RAD)

Domain: Commodities trading

Tech stack: .NET, Python, Angular, Azure

Day rate: PS950/d (inside IR35)

Location: London (hybrid - 3 days per week)

Contract: 6 months (strong extension scope)

X4 Technology are partnered with a global energy trading firm in London, offering the opportunity for a Rapid Application Developer to join one of their trading desks on a day-rate contract basis.

The RAD Developer, embedded with the desk team working closely with traders and quants, will predominantly develop in Python (position P&L tools, pricing spreadsheets), C#.NET(service development, real-time data processing, SDK implementation) and Angular (UI solutions).

The desk team has many further exciting projects in the pipeline too, focused on event-based architecture, Azure services and containerisation, so adaptability across multiple technologies is essential.

Requirements for the RAD Developer:

Front Office RAD Developer experience
Background working with commodity trading teams (physical or financial)
C#: ASP.NET Core Web API, event-based architecture
Python: FastAPI, Pandas, Numphy
Angular
Azure: Bicep / Terraform, Web App, Functions, Service Bus / Event Hubs, StorageAccount
Docker, Containerisation, K8s, Pipelines
Data: SQL Server, Postgres, Cosmos
Agile and adaptable to the fast-paced needs of a front office trading team, with the ability to quickly develop code and deliver pragmatic solutions at speed.

This is a unique opportunity to join a high-profile energy trading player, supporting a global energy portfolio. You'll play a key role in helping the desk to capture trading opportunities, optimise portfolios and create value, with significant scope for long-term extension.
