Feldspar & Flint LLC is a NYC metro-based Talent Consulting firm that specializes in operational strategy across core business functions.

We are seeking a strategic legal leader to guide our legal, compliance, and governance efforts to serve as the company's chief legal advisor, responsible for overseeing all legal and regulatory matters. This role also encompasses corporate governance, contract negotiation, and risk management, ensuring the company operates within legal boundaries while supporting strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Advise executive leadership on legal and regulatory matters affecting life insurance and annuity products.
Ensure compliance with U.S. state and federal insurance laws, as well as offshore regulatory frameworks.
Manage relationships with domestic and international regulatory bodies and external counsel.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including reinsurance agreements, vendor contracts, and corporate transactions.
Lead corporate governance initiatives, including board support and entity management.
Monitor legal developments and implement necessary policy and procedural updates.
Oversee legal aspects of product development, marketing, and distribution.
Manage legal risk related to privacy, cybersecurity, and data protection.
Support M&A activity, strategic partnerships, and capital markets transactions as needed.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active bar membership.
Minimum 8-10 years of legal experience, preferably in life insurance, annuities, or financial services.
Demonstrated expertise in onshore and offshore insurance regulatory compliance.
Strong background in corporate law, including governance, contracts, and transactions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
