Founding Engineer - Frontend Engineer (React, TypeScript)

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)

Type: Full-time

Compensation: $150K-$220K + 0.1%-0.5% equity

Work Authorization: No visa sponsorship available

About the Role

This is a chance to join early and help define both the product and the frontend stack at a fast-moving startup. You'll build elegant, high-performance interfaces that make complex tasks feel simple, and you'll work closely with design and backend engineering to bring new ideas to life.

What You'll Do

Build fast, intuitive UIs with React and TypeScript
Set UI standards and help establish a consistent design system
Solve tough interaction and usability problems in creative domains
Collaborate across the stack (Node.js, APIs, infrastructure) when needed
Prioritize accessibility, responsiveness, and detail in every build
Write clear, purposeful UI copy, from tooltips to error states

What You Bring

2+ years of experience building frontend applications
Strong command of React, performance optimization, and modern styling tools
A sharp eye for user experience and design consistency
Bonus: experience contributing to backend code or working in small product teams
