We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to drive some of LinkedIn's most exciting 0-1 initiatives for the Online Hiring - SMB Team in LinkedIn's Talent Solutions. This team empowers small and medium businesses to hire faster and smarter by building AI-powered hiring agents that simplify and reimagine the job posting experience. We work at the intersection of AI, product innovation, and system design, shaping how millions of SMBs find their next hire. The pace is high, the problems are complex, and the impact is real -- our work is highly visible and critical to LinkedIn's strategy in hiring.
In this role, you will serve as the technical lead, shaping long-term architecture and guiding the adoption of emerging technologies.
Responsibilities:
* You will deliver impact by driving innovation while building and shipping software at scale.
* You will work closely with and influence product and/or technology partners regularly to help define a long-term technology roadmap.
* Owning the technical strategy for broad or complex requirements with insightful and forward-looking approaches that go beyond the direct team and solve large open-ended problems.
* Functioning as the tech-lead for several concurrent key initiatives across Search and AI Infrastructure, AI modeling and defining the future of AI-enabled products.
* You will execute on product and technical workstreams by collaborating with engineering, product managers, designers, other software development teams, and business partners
* You will be a role model and professional coach for engineers with a strong bias for action and focus on craftsmanship.
* You will resolve conflicts between teams within the organization to get alignment and build team culture.
* You will create a collaborative work environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, innovation, and learning.
Basic Qualifications:
* BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
* 5+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
* 5+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems and client-server architectures
* 5+ years of experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, Rust, C#, C/C++
* 3+ years of experience in an architect or technical leadership position
Preferred Qualifications:
* 10+ years of experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
* Experience building large-scale consumer products
* Experience with machine learning or related technology
* Experience in leading cross-organization, cross-functional efforts and successfully delivering transformational technology for hard problems
* Active involvement in the creation and execution of technical strategies and roadmaps
* 2+ years' experience building ML applications, LLM serving, GPU serving.
* 1+ years of working on GenAI applications (Prompt engineering optimizations, Fine tuning, etc.)

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $181,000 to $297,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
