Security Operations Specialist

Location: Jersey City, currently in office Tuesday, Wed, Thursday (Remote Monday & Friday)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Security Operations Analyst for a rolling 6 month contract. University upper classmen and recent grads are welcome to apply.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of networking, Windows Operating Systems, Unix/Linux Operating System. Familiarity with NIST & MITRE frameworks is a must. The candidate should also have the ability to perform basic triage, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in vulnerability management.

Responsibilities:

* Monitor and analyze alerts from a wide array of security devices and systems

* Perform basic triage and incident response, escalating issues as necessary

* Apply knowledge of NIST & MITRE frameworks to improve security posture

* Manage vulnerabilities within the organization's network

* Collaborate with team members to enhance security protocols

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications:

* Academic work in Computer Science or a similar field

* Knowledge of networking, Windows Operating Systems, Unix/Linux Operating System

* Familiarity with NIST & MITRE frameworks

* Ability to perform basic triage

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Experience in vulnerability management

Preferred skills:

* Familiarity with firewalls

* Familiarity with networking

* Familiarity with operating systems (ie, Windows, Unix, Linux)

* Familiarity with Cloud (Azure & AWS)

* Proficiency in Python or other scripting languages
