Financial Controller (12 months)

Finatal is currently partnering with one of the UK's most admired hospitality brands - known for its award-winning restaurants, unique culture, and uncompromising commitment to people and guests. Following recent private equity investment, the business is embarking on its next stage of growth, expanding its multi-site footprint and strengthening its finance function to support this exciting journey.

They are currently seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the business. This is a high-profile role with regular exposure to the Board, investors, and senior operations leaders.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver accurate, timely financial reporting (management accounts, statutory accounts, audit, and compliance).
Lead on technical accounting, balance sheet integrity, and tax compliance.
Partner with Operations across the multi-site restaurant estate, providing commercial insight and robust financial control.
Oversee and enhance payroll and tronc processes, ensuring compliance and transparency for team members.
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting, covenant reporting, and investor reporting packs.
Implement best-in-class systems, processes, and controls to support a scaling, PE-backed business.
Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, ensuring continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements

Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong technical grounding.
Proven experience in hospitality, leisure, or multi-site consumer businesses.
Hands-on knowledge of tronc/payroll structures and related compliance.
Experience in a PE-backed or investor-led environment, comfortable with board and covenant reporting.
Commercial mindset with the ability to partner operational leaders and drive performance.
Strong systems experience (e.g., Netsuite, Sage Intacct, Power BI, or similar).
Collaborative leader who thrives in entrepreneurial, people-first cultures.
