AI Research Engineer - Python / LLMs

Contract length: 31/12/2025 - potential to extend for 24 months or permanent conversion
Location: London 3 days per week
Salary: PS89,000- PS98,000

A leading global technology company is seeking an AI Research Engineer to help advance cutting-edge AI agent capabilities. This role involves prototyping, testing, and benchmarking AI systems to deliver best-in-class performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and optimize test prompts for AI agents.
Experiment with prompt engineering to steer AI behaviour.
Implement and debug AI agent tool calls in Python/PHP.
Build high-quality benchmarks for AI models.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong Python programming skills.
Experience in Generative AI and LLM research.
Hands-on work with AI agent frameworks (e.g., LangChain, MCP).
Familiarity with software architecture and source control.

Preferred:

SQL or database interaction experience.
Knowledge of open-source AI libraries.
