Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with a strong security focus to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing infrastructure security, automating security processes, and ensuring system resilience. You will work within the SRE team, driving security initiatives, incident response, and compliance efforts while collaborating with engineering teams to embed security best practices into operations.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Security & Reliability
Design, build, and maintain resilient, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
Implement security best practices across systems, networks, and applications.
Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks.
Security Automation & Compliance
Develop and integrate security automation into infrastructure processes to enhance efficiency.
Automate security monitoring, compliance enforcement, and incident response workflows.
Support compliance initiatives and audits for ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Manage endpoint security tools and ensure systems align with compliance requirements.
Monitoring, Incident Response & Forensics
Implement real-time monitoring and anomaly detection to proactively identify security threats.
Lead security incident response efforts, perform forensic analysis, and develop remediation strategies.
Ensure log aggregation and analysis using tools such as ELK, Loki, or Datadog.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work closely with software engineers, security teams, and infrastructure teams to embed security into system architecture.
Participate in system design reviews, platform management, and security-focused incident post-mortems.
Stay up to date with emerging security threats, industry best practices, and automation technologies.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure management, or security engineering.
Strong Linux/Unix administration background in production environments.
Deep understanding of security frameworks and best practices (e.g., OWASP, CIS, NIST).
Hands-on experience with endpoint security tools and compliance automation.
Experience participating in certification processes (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
Expertise in monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpsGenie, ELK, Loki, Datadog).
Strong scripting skills in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages.
Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and security controls is an advantage.
Experience with incident response and forensic analysis.
Knowledge of source control and versioning tools (e.g., Git).
Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH, OSCP, KLCP) are a plus.
Experience with Telco environments is an advantage.
