Test Automation Engineer - UiPath POC

Investment Banking

Contract PS600 per day | Inside IR35

London - Hybrid (2-3 days onsite per week)

6-month initial contract (extensions expected)

You'll be joining the Innovation Team within Architecture & Engineering, working at the sharp end of a Proof of Concept (POC) to evaluate UiPath's Test Suite for automation across capital markets applications.

This is a hands-on technical role - rapid prototyping, tool evaluation, and delivering a working demonstration of automated test scenarios.

What you'll be doing in the job:

Designing and implementing a POC framework for test automation using UiPath
Developing and maintaining automated test scripts for financial software applications
Executing automation across front-to-back banking applications to validate functionality, performance, and reliability
Collaborating with BA, QA, DevOps, and development teams to shape requirements into automation use cases
Evaluating UiPath's integration with CI/CD pipelines and providing recommendations
Presenting POC findings and outcomes to stakeholders including the Head of Innovation and QA Automation

What experience you need to be successful:

Strong hands-on experience with UiPath (Studio, Orchestrator, Test Suite) - ideally UiPath certified
Solid background in test automation frameworks and methodologies (Selenium, Cucumber, Postman also beneficial)
Proficiency in Java, VB.NET, or C# with automation coding skills
Experience of testing integrated financial services applications (front, middle, back office)
Understanding of RPA concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile ways of working
Excellent problem-solving skills, stakeholder engagement, and ability to deliver within a proof-of-concept phase
