Job Specifications
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to support a major License Plate Recognition program, a national initiative using intelligent camera systems that automatically recognize vehicle license plates for traffic safety and law enforcement purposes.
As Business Analyst, you'll help stabilize and optimize the system by analyzing existing processes, defining clear requirements, and translating business needs into actionable solutions. You'll work at the crossroads of business, technology, and operations , bridging end-users, management, and IT teams to ensure system stability, efficiency, and compliance.
What You'll Do
Analyze the current system and identify pain points, risks, and improvement areas.
Gather and document business requirements and system needs from users, operations, and management.
Develop business and process documentation (requirements lists, workflows, business models).
Formulate recommendations to improve system performance, stability, and usability.
Serve as a bridge between business and IT, translating functional requirements into clear, testable solutions.
Collaborate closely with project managers on roadmaps and planning, identifying priorities and dependencies.
Contribute to quality assurance and testing, including test strategies, scenarios, and user acceptance support.
Monitor implementations and assess their impact on system performance and business outcomes.
Must-Have Skills
10+ years of experience in business analysis and/or ICT project coordination.
Proven experience in complex IT environments or public-sector projects.
Solid knowledge of business analysis methods and tools (process modeling, requirements management).
Proficiency with MS Visio, Power BI, Jira, and Confluence.
Strong analytical skills, able to structure large amounts of data and identify actionable insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of aligning diverse stakeholders.
Fluent in Dutch or French, with strong passive knowledge of the other national language.
Discretion and reliability when handling sensitive or confidential data.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with ANPR systems, camera technology, or traffic monitoring.
Affinity with law enforcement, public safety, or infrastructure IT systems.
Knowledge of privacy legislation related to camera data management.
What do we offer?
Location: Brussels region - minimum 2 days/week on-site
Start Date: 1 November 2025.
Duration: Until end of 2025 (extendable).
Contract: Freelance or Permanent.
Workload: Full-time.
