Business Analyst III (Applications/Software Development)
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid / Onsite)
Type: Full-Time Contract
Overview
CornerStone Technology Talent Services is seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst III to support a major state-level technology initiative. The successful candidate will collaborate with technical and business teams to analyze, evaluate, and optimize business systems, processes, and application development efforts.
This position requires extensive experience in business process reengineering, systems analysis, and translating complex business needs into effective software solutions.
Responsibilities
Review, analyze, and evaluate existing business systems and user requirements.
Formulate system designs and solutions that align with organizational goals and strategies.
Lead and support business process reengineering initiatives, identifying opportunities to apply technology for greater business effectiveness.
Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and financial analyses (including ROI, cost/benefit, and build vs. buy decisions).
Develop detailed documentation of user needs, program functions, and steps required for system design, development, or modification.
Participate in software development reviews, offering recommendations and insights throughout analysis, design, and testing phases.
Support and perform unit, system, and user acceptance testing.
Collaborate effectively with IT and business teams, serving as a liaison to ensure alignment between technology and business objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
8+ years of experience reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating business systems and user needs.
8+ years of experience with business analysis frameworks, knowledge areas, and best practices.
8+ years participating in software development reviews and providing analytical guidance.
8+ years performing or supporting unit, system, and user acceptance testing.
8+ years of experience in planning, organizing, and managing multiple assignments concurrently.
8+ years of experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
8+ years of experience communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills:
Experience implementing case management systems.
Experience using Jira or similar project management tools.
Experience as a Data Analyst (analyzing raw data, developing business insights).
Experience as a liaison between business and IT teams, including architecture, project delivery, and sustainment functions.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or project leadership experience is a plus.
