Job Specifications

AI Interface Engineer (Frontend)

Location: Remote (must live in the United States)

Hours: 20-40 hrs/week (flexible; occasional overtime)

Compensation: $30-$80/hour DOE

Focus: ~80% frontend / ~20% backend

High performers may be considered for a full-time role.

What You'll Do

Translate Figma designs into production-quality React interfaces.
Build clean, reusable React components and patterns (state management, composition, accessibility, responsiveness).
Ship quickly in a fast-paced environment with crisp iterations and tight feedback loops.
Handle light backend integration as needed (API wiring, data fetching, basic endpoints).
Maintain quality through code reviews, pragmatic testing, and performance checks.

Tech Stack

React + Next.js (serverless) for the frontend. UI with Tailwind CSS and shadcn/ui. State & validation with Zustand + Zod. Light backend via Next.js API routes and Python serverless functions. Design in Figma. Testing (nice to have): Jest, RTL.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience shipping TS or React projects.
Obsessive attention to detail across layout, polish, and interaction.
Comfort operating in a very fast environment with clear goals and high demands.
Strong communication and ownership over scope, timelines, and trade-offs.
Bonus: TypeScript, design systems, and component libraries.

Interview Process

Take-home assignment: design a focused React component that mirrors our standards (clean API, accessibility, tests).
15-minute debrief on your solution and trade-offs.
