Description
Key Job Elements:
Develop and support customized s using XML programming, including editing and defining files with DTDs and XML schemas for military contracts
Develop and maintain software code for IETM viewers and compilers, enabling server-side processing and developing responsive and user-centric interfaces
Develop applications for authoring environments, including authoring tools and integration with Content Management Systems (CMS)
Test software code and processes following industry-standard best practices in software documentation
Evaluate project requirements and deliver IT solutions that support continuous improvement initiatives
Support project execution using agile methodologies and documentation best practices
Investigate logistics and technical publications specifications and standards
Assist in the investigation, analysis and recommendation of resolutions
Collaborate with the IT department and vendors as needed to resolve issues and develop debugging solutions
Create and maintain databases, scripts and conversion tools for internal and external customers
Coordinate projects using existing collaboration platforms, guidance documents and departmental procedures
Work closely with special project teams to support communications, progress and status updates
Required Qualifications
University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, DevOps or related field
1 to 3 years relevant experience
Proficiency with web-based development tools, i.e. Node.js, Express, Bootstrap
Experience with XML programming, scripting and development, i.e. XSL, FOSI, Java,VB.NET, VBA, JavaScript, XPath
Experience with general programming languages, i.e .NET, Javascript, HTML
Experience with version control using Git, including branch management and commit workflows
Proficient in using development environments such as Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Visual Studio Code
Experience with software tracking and IT project management tools for agile development, i.e. Atlassian suite, Gitlab, etc.
Highly effective planning, analytical and negotiation skills
Strong communication skills (written, oral and presentation) with both internal and external customers
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Information Technology, IT Project Management, or Business Analysis
Knowledge of logistics and technical publications development
Understanding of Light Armoured Vehicles
Awareness of DevOps relationships
Proficiency with relational databases from both development and support perspectives
