Job Specifications

We are seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join our team for a short-term, 90-day assignment. This role will primarily focus on program labor activities within the Aero Business Unit (BU) and will report directly to the BU Controller. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver ready to support our labor accounting department with critical daily activities.

Position Details

Job Title: General Ledger Accountant
Duration: 90-Day Short-Term Assignment
Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Location: Flexible - Remote or In-person at our Madison, MS office.

Key Responsibilities

As the primary point of contact for program labor activities, your duties will include:

Serving as the primary POC for all program labor accounting activities.
Assisting with data compilation and gathering for internal and external audit requests.
Performing monthly account reconciliations using the company ERP system.
Maintaining accurate General Ledger (GL) vs. Subledger detail as required.
Creating and processing Journal Entries (JEs).
Investigating and resolving accounting anomalies and discrepancies.
Adhering to company policies, procedures, and maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards.
Taking on other special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Accounting degree preferred).
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in General Ledger accounting and Government Contract accounting.
Skills: Excellent attention to detail, proven problem-solving abilities, and strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

Familiarity with SAP and strong proficiency in Excel.

Additional Requirements

Must be willing and able to work weekends, other shifts, and overtime as required.
Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required).
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required).
Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
Some travel may be required.
