Finance Systems Consultant / Project Manager (FTC - 4 Months)

Location: Central London (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in office)

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Initially 4 months

Salary: circa PS70,000 per annum (pro rata)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Systems Consultant / Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new General Ledger system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role ideal for a qualified accountant or finance systems specialist with strong project management experience. You will be responsible for driving the design, configuration, and delivery of the new GL, ensuring alignment with best practices, and supporting the finance function through a successful transition.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end implementation of the new General Ledger (Dynamics 365 Business Central).
Design and configure the Chart of Accounts, dimensions, user access, and workflows.
Streamline and automate finance processes across journals, accounts payable, fixed assets, VAT, and bank reconciliations.
Collaborate with external implementation partners, IT, and Finance stakeholders to integrate systems (e.g. Treasury, HMRC VAT, Power BI reporting).
Develop and migrate journal templates, financial reports, and historical data into the new system.
Conduct testing (UAT), risk analysis, and documentation of controls.
Develop user guides and deliver training sessions to upskill Finance teams.
Oversee project milestones, meetings, budgets, and timelines.

Skills & Experience

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or strong finance systems background.
Proven experience delivering ERP or GL implementations, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
Solid understanding of core finance processes: GL, AP, AR, VAT, cash management, and reporting.
Strong experience in finance process design, automation, and control frameworks.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Exposure to Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate) desirable.
MB-800 certification (Business Central Functional Consultant) is a plus.
