They are seeking a Data Engineer to design and manage secure, scalable data systems across AWS and on-prem environments. The role involves developing robust data pipelines, automating infrastructure, and ensuring compliance with federal and DoD standards.

Responsibilities

Design and maintain data workflows, ETL/ELT pipelines, and high-volume data systems.
Deploy and manage Kafka, Redpanda, or Kinesis on Kubernetes using declarative configurations.
Apply systems engineering principles for reliability, scalability, and recovery.
Automate infrastructure with Terraform and optimize performance in AWS/Kubernetes.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to secure data layers and ensure compliance.
Stay current on trends in Kubernetes, containerization, and data engineering.
Adapt to new projects and evolving organizational needs.

Requirements

Proven experience building data pipelines and databases on Kubernetes.
Hands-on work with Kafka/Redpanda streaming solutions.
Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
Familiarity with API, container, and cloud security best practices.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret DoD clearance.
Preferred: Experience with ML or generative AI models.
Preferred: Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/Pulumi) and GitOps knowledge.
Preferred: Background in secure or federal environments.
