Summary

At MasterControl we are building our next generation data platform that will help redefine how our customers bring lifesaving and life-changing products to market. We are looking for an Data Platform Operations Intern who will build, maintain and enhance our data platform infrastructure. This Data Platform Operations Intern role is crucial in MasterControl's important work of helping our customers get the actionable insights they need from their quality and manufacturing processes.

You will have worked with BI tools to build live connection models required for presenting high-quality, fresh data to support our worldwide customer base in the US, EMEA, APAC. You will also automate deployment of those models to ensure frictionless releases with a minimum of toil. Your strong engineering skills will expand expertise within our Data Platform teams. Your experience working with APIs, SQL, data modeling, dashboards and alerting will enable you to build capabilities, tools, and plugins to support our data systems.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain services and APIs to manage our data platform with an eye toward automation at enterprise-scale.
Design and develop dashboards providing deep insights into the health and usage of our data platform.
Implement best practices for data governance, security, and privacy to maintain the highest standards for data integrity.
Understand and integrate our analytics tools, including our BI platform, with multiple data products, ensuring high-quality delivery of data to our customers.
Create and maintain documentation for our analytics services and capabilities
Work with data engineers, BI engineers, and product managers to translate business requirements to technical specifications fo data platform operations capabilities.
Automating the process of releasing updates to data products with the highest quality.
Foster collaboration in team and cross-team settings.
Support development and telemetry of scalable and reliable data pipelines.

Requirements And Skills

Bachelor's degree or pursuing, in analytics, information systems, computer science, data science, or equivalent experience
Experience with Confluent Cloud, including Kafka and Flink
Experience building analytics systems and service pipelines
Knowledge of relational, dimensional, and other data modeling

This position is specifically designed for Northeastern University students as part of the university's cooperative education (Co-op) program. Candidates must be enrolled at Northeastern University and eligible to participate in the official Co-op program for the designated term.

The US base hourly range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, education and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
