Freelance Senior Business Analyst-Brussels Hybrid

Service Description
As a Business Analyst within the SITO department, you'll play a key role in the digital transformation of the Assets division.
The Assets department is mainly responsible for maintaining the high-voltage grid and commissioning its expansions. Safety, quality, and efficiency are our core values.
As a Business Analyst, you will define efficient business processes, capture business needs, and translate them into IT system specifications.
You'll act as the bridge between business stakeholders and IT partners (functional analysts, project managers, architects, etc.), challenging all sides when necessary to ensure pragmatic and effective solutions.
Your ultimate goal: to develop and maintain IT tools that optimally support business processes.
We're seeking a Business Analyst to support our digitalization projects, particularly:
Optimizing our Asset Reference Systems by centralizing reference data systems -- e.g., merging reference data for high-voltage lines and underground cables with that of substations.
This project involves both centralization and complete data migration, as well as providing the data to the broader organization through data products.
Key Responsibilities
Model and redesign business processes, guiding business teams through process optimization.
Identify business needs and translate them into well-defined business requirements in the form of epics, features, and user stories.
Challenge business stakeholders to refine "to-be" processes and ensure clarity of needs.
Develop business information models describing the data required to meet business needs (interfaces, screens, reports, migration, etc.).
Align and validate requirements between business and IT teams.
Validate IT's functional analyses.
Support testing and validation after tool implementation, including UAT (User Acceptance Testing).
Play an active role in change management, including preparing training materials and delivering end-user training, following the company change management framework and toolkit.
Support the business during post-implementation phases.
Requirements
Master's degree in a technical or economic field, or equivalent through experience.
At least 10 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, including needs identification, business requirements drafting, and process design.
Strong analytical mindset -- you're critical and unafraid to challenge assumptions.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively, building consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
High customer focus, adaptability, and flexibility.
Knowledge of BPMN 2.0 and UML Class Diagrams.
Experience with Enterprise Architect (EA), Jira, and Azure DevOps is a plus.
Experience in the electricity or utilities sector is an advantage.
Knowledge of asset reference systems is a plus.
Fluent English (reading and writing) and excellent proficiency in Dutch or French (speaking, reading, writing). The second national language should be understood.
