Head of IT

Nigel Frank are working with an industry-leading organisation based in Southampton to recruit an experienced Head of IT to lead their technology function through an exciting period of growth and transformation.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing all aspects of infrastructure, cybersecurity, networking, ERP, and business systems, while managing a talented in-house IT team. You'll also play a key role in the organisation's ongoing Salesforce implementation, ensuring that IT strategy and operations are aligned with wider business objectives.
The Role
As Head of IT, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, management, and delivery of IT services across the business.
You'll ensure the security, resilience, and efficiency of systems while developing the team and driving continuous improvement across technology functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop the IT team across infrastructure, support, development, and cybersecurity.
Oversee networking, infrastructure, and system architecture, ensuring robust business continuity.
Manage cybersecurity strategy and compliance, including maintaining Cyber Essentials certification.
Support and guide the successful Salesforce implementation and integration across the business.
Oversee the management of ERP and other core business systems.
Manage IT budgets, vendors, and third-party relationships.
Ensure service delivery excellence, team development, and adherence to best practices across IT operations.
About You
We're looking for a proven IT leader who can combine technical credibility with strong people management and strategic thinking.
Essential experience:
Previous experience in a Head of IT, IT Manager, or Senior IT Leadership role.
Strong background in infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
Experience managing ERP systems and leading system integrations or migrations.
Involvement in Salesforce or other major CRM/ERP implementations.
Knowledge of Cyber Essentials and wider security best practices.
Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively at all levels of the business.
