Job Specifications

Operations Job Spec

* Evidence of hands-on (job) experience with AWS & Kubernetes (mandatory)

* Learning projects are not enough, they need to have worked on live projects that use this stack.

* Good understanding of different network protocols/tech, how, when, where and why you would use one over the other e.g.

* HTTP(S)

* ICMP

* DNS

* ARP

* SSH

* etc.

* Must be able to debug and fix networking problems in an AWS environment.

* Good understanding of databases/sql.

* Should be able to log in to any database (postgres/mysql/etc) and execute basic commands.

* Be an independent problem solver, needs to be able to be given a problem and present/implement solutions without support from others.

* Hands-on (job experience) use of IAC (`terraform`) mandatory

* Evidence of being able to fix errors in `terraform` runs.

* Good communication & writing skills

* Well practiced in at least one _real_ programming language.

* `shell`, `powershell` or any other scripting language is not enough.

* Knowledge of development processes and pipeline execution, such as:

* TDD/BDD

* Linting

* Unit & Integration testing

* Vulnerability scanning

* Debugging and Fixing CI workflows

* Working knowledge of different languages build and packaging processes (we do debug developer issues in this space):

* `npm` for node

* `poetry` for python

* `maven` and `gradle` for Java
