The Opportunity: Define the Future of Data Security with AI
Are you a highly skilled Microsoft Purview Subject Matter Expert (SME) ready for a challenge that sits at the intersection of advanced data governance and cutting-edge generative AI?
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Purview professional to lead a mission-critical initiative: integrating Microsoft Purview Data Loss Prevention (DLP) with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
This is a high-visibility role, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) office, where your expertise will be instrumental in securing our enterprise data against the new risks and opportunities presented by AI.
We are flexible on location, welcoming applications for an Offshore arrangement or a Hybrid model based near our office in Chicago, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Implementation Leadership: Architect, configure, and lead the end-to-end integration of Microsoft Purview DLP policies and controls with Microsoft 365 Copilot to ensure maximum data protection and compliance as AI capabilities are adopted.
Strategic Advisory: Act as the organization's top-tier Subject Matter Expert on Purview, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership (including the CTO office) on data security posture, AI governance, and compliance best practices.
Policy & Control Definition: Develop advanced DLP policies that govern Copilot interactions, ensuring sensitive information is correctly classified, protected, and restricted from unauthorized use by generative AI features.
Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and mitigate data leakage risks associated with the implementation and use of Microsoft 365 Copilot across various workloads (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Security Operations, IT Architecture, and Compliance teams to maintain a unified data security and governance framework.
Required Skill Set & Experience:
Deep, Hands-On Expertise: Extensive experience as an SME with the Microsoft Purview suite, specifically Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection (Sensitivity Labels), and Compliance Management.
Mandatory Integration Skill: Proven, demonstrable experience in successfully integrating Microsoft Purview DLP with Microsoft 365 Copilot (including DSPM for AI), policy scoping, and managing resulting audit logs/alerts.
Executive Presence: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate complex security and compliance concepts clearly to both technical teams and executive-level stakeholders (CTO).
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of global and regional data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, CCPA) and how to map them to Purview controls.
Certification (Preferred): Relevant Microsoft certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance Administrator (SC-400) or similar.
Work Model:
Location: Hybrid (Chicago, IL) or Fully Offshore/Remote.
Reporting: Directly to the CTO Office.
