About the opportunity

A prominent property developer responsible for delivering Greenwich Peninsula-one of London's most ambitious regeneration projects-is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a part-time basis. This role offers a genuine entry point into lettings accounting for experienced administrators or an opportunity for those with lettings accounts experience to contribute to a major urban development.

The position sits within a collaborative finance function that manages accounting processes across multiple entities within the organisation. You'll work alongside a supportive team that values rigorous work whilst maintaining a welcoming and inclusive culture.

What makes the role exceptional

This part-time position provides real flexibility, with working hours designed to fit around personal commitments such as childcare. You'll be office-based for three days per week, allowing you to balance professional development with family responsibilities.

The role offers exposure to a high-volume lettings portfolio within a unique regeneration setting where 5,000 residents already call home, with 17,500+ homes under development. You'll gain valuable experience working with Qube SLM software and managing the full cycle of lettings accounting and administration.

With strong prospects for permanent conversion after the initial 6-month period, this role represents a genuine opportunity to establish yourself within a finance team committed to long-term growth and exceptional service delivery.

Key responsibilities

Registering new tenant deposits with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme (TDS) and verifying certificates
Raising ad-hoc charges in Qube SLM for services including MVHR, EPC, EICR and statements
Assisting with tenancy renewals and administering associated lease charges
Processing high-volume supplier invoices including ground rent, service charges and utilities
Posting and reconciling daily rent receipts and managing fund movements
Responding to landlord queries regarding statements, charges and account issues
Administering tenancy terminations and raising check-out fee charges

Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and manage workload independently
Comfortable handling large volumes of data and working to deadlines
Professional written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision once trained
