Lead & Principal – AI, Data Science (Consulting)

We are supporting a consultancy that is building an advanced AI, data science, and simulation capability. The organisation is recruiting experienced Leads and Principals to help shape and deliver real-world, measurable impact through applied AI and data solutions.

This is a chance to join a growing consulting practice at an early stage of its development. The business is focused on solving complex, high-value challenges across defence, consumer, and public sectors, from accelerating production in critical national programmes, to designing personalised customer experiences, to using AI to improve public health outcomes.

About the roles

Leads and Principals will play a key role in developing and delivering projects that combine machine learning, generative AI, simulation, and data science. The work requires strong consulting capability, technical depth, and the ability to translate data solutions into tangible business outcomes.

Leads typically bring around three to five years of experience, while Principals will have four to six or more. Both levels are expected to coach others, shape delivery, and work closely with client partners to design and sell effective solutions.

Combine technical expertise with consulting experience and strong client influence

Travel and working patterns

The nature of the work requires regular travel across the UK to client sites. Candidates should expect to be on-site with clients two to three days per week on average, with some engagements requiring more frequent presence.

Candidates who are eligible for UK security clearance are especially encouraged to apply, though not all roles will require it.

Ideal backgrounds

Preferred candidates are likely to have experience from major consultancies or data-led organisations where they have shaped and delivered complex solutions. Diverse educational and professional backgrounds are welcomed, provided candidates can demonstrate tangible outcomes and the ability to influence at senior levels.
