The Client

A global financial institution offering a wide range of investment banking, personal banking, commercial banking, wealth management and global banking products and services.

What you will achieve in the role

Supports and delivers specific operational processes to ensure timely and accurate settlement of Fixed Income security transactions executed globally.
Confirms that the activity is accurately recorded in the bank's book of records.
Provides pre-settlement and post settlement support related to confirmation, cash management, cash and position reconciliations.
Provides support for specialized operations - Asset Servicing (corporate actions/entitlements), Global Cash Management and the Wire Payment Operations hub for the bank.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory and reporting requirements.
Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Determines business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
Communicates with internal business partners and external customers to respond to standard and non-standard inquiries.
Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
Monitors and tracks performance and addresses any issues.
Fulfills routine and frequently non-routine transactions, internal business partner and/or external customer inquiries/requests, and/or audit/reconciliation activities.
Evaluates and resolves complex issues efficiently and effectively in accordance with Bank and industry standards. Acts as primary back-up to team members and as back-up to the manager.
Analyzes circumstances requiring exceptions and engages senior management for resolution.
Resolves standard issues, referring non-routine issues to more senior team members and/or manager.
Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient service.
Follows policies and procedures to execute day-to-day transactions, activities, processes and ensures all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
Checks and reconciles information and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Analyzes data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
Identifies and analyzes issues and resolves discrepancies in a timely manner.
Communicates with clients directly to resolve issues and/or escalates as required.
Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.

What you bring to the role

2 - 4 years of Fixed Income Settlements experience.
Post-secondary degree in related field of study.
Capital Markets experience is an asset.
In-depth experience using relevant systems and technology in the settlements space.
Experience using Clearstream and/or Euroclear is a big asset.
Expert understanding of products and services, processes and controls associated with settlements.
Strong knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong experience in data-driven decision making.
Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent collaboration, influencing and customer service skills.
