Job Specifications

Role Purpose:

Support the bank’s financial performance by driving cost transparency, insight, and control through effective business partnering. This role will act as the key finance contact for specific functions, helping stakeholders understand cost drivers, identify efficiencies, and deliver against budget and guidance targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Own end-to-end cost forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for assigned functions.
Partner with senior leaders to challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency.
Develop robust commentary and insight for month-end, board, and ExCo reporting.
Build and maintain cost models, ensuring alignment with accounting and reporting policies.
Support functional heads in planning recruitment, supplier spend, and investment decisions.
Lead quarterly re-forecast and long-term planning cycles for operating costs.
Provide financial input to business cases and strategic initiatives, ensuring benefits are measurable and trackable.
Work closely with Financial Control to ensure accurate accruals and prepayments.
Drive continuous improvement in cost reporting processes and systems (e.g., Adaptive, Power BI, or similar tools).

Skills & Experience:

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in FP&A or financial analysis.
Proven experience in cost management and business partnering roles.
Strong analytical and modelling skills (Excel, financial modelling, scenario analysis).
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
Experience within banking, financial services, or other regulated industries (preferred).
Ability to translate financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
Commercial mindset, comfortable challenging and influencing senior management.
