Role Overview:

We are looking for a Freelance French Proofreader to join our growing creative network. In this role, you will review and refine French scripts and episodes to ensure linguistic accuracy, narrative consistency, and natural localization. Your work will directly contribute to delivering high-quality, engaging audio content to our French-speaking audience.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and Proofread: Examine assigned episodes for accuracy, logical flow, and adherence to Pocket FM’s style and tone guidelines
Ensure Narrative Consistency: Verify story continuity, character details, and localization consistency across episodes. Ensure logical conclusions and smooth transitions
Language Quality & Localization: Adapt translations to sound authentically French—avoid literal English-to-French phrasing. Use natural idioms, expressions, and conversational tone
Correct Common Script Errors: Identify inaccuracies, grammatical mistakes, tense issues, and punctuation errors. Ensure proper sentence structure and word order
Maintain Data Integrity: Work within Pocket FM’s shared storage systems (Google Drive or other platforms) while ensuring all source files remain intact and organized

Qualifications & Skills

:Native or near-native proficiency in French (written and spoken
)Excellent command of French grammar, punctuation, and stylistic convention
sPrior experience in proofreading, editing, or localization, ideally in media, publishing, or entertainmen
tStrong storytelling sense and ability to maintain narrative coherenc
eComfortable working with Google Drive and collaborative cloud-based tool
sDetail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines independentl
