About Opus Group

Opus Group is a strategy and solution design firm dedicated to serving clients across Canada and the United States. We help government agencies and social impact organizations turn bold ideas into real-world impact, delivering clear, scalable value for key stakeholders.

We were founded to solve a common challenge in creating public and social impact — too many great ideas that never make it past the planning stage.

Our team is a dynamic collective of strategists, researchers, designers, and changemakers, driven by a shared belief: impact doesn’t happen by chance — it’s intentionally built. We are more than consultants; we are hands-on partners, working alongside our clients to co-create, test, and refine solutions that drive lasting change.

Opus Group specializes in three core service areas:

Strategy Development - Defining the path from insight to action
Solution Design - Turning strategies into tested, scalable solutions
Implementation Support, Insights Generation & Continuous Improvement - Using evidence and data to refine and sustain impact

Our guiding principle is simple: Great policy is only as impactful as its execution. At Opus Group, we make execution work.

We're Growing — Join Us!

Opus Group is expanding, and we're seeking a strategic, proactive, and detail-oriented Business Development & Marketing Coordinator to build and execute the operational engine behind our marketing and business development efforts.

As a Business Development & Marketing Coordinator, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes force that keeps Opus Group’s business development pipeline running smoothly. Your job is to help us attract, nurture, and convert the right leads, while ensuring our Founder/Managing Partner is focused on the highest-value work: relationship-building and thought leadership.

This is a hybrid role that spans business development operations, content creation, event and pipeline coordination, and light-touch marketing support. It’s perfect for someone who loves building systems, writing thoughtful communications, and making things happen with calm confidence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Event Management: Research and maintain a calendar of aligned conferences, summits, and speaking opportunities. Pitch speaking opportunities using refined speaker bios and assets. Own end-to-end logistics for lead generation events and track conference ROI (leads, spend, conversions)
Content Creation & Scheduling: Write compelling business development-aligned content for LinkedIn, newsletter, and event marketing (no AI or fluff). Schedule and post across platforms in coordination with our marketing strategist. Repurpose content from talks and speaking appearances into high-quality written formats
Lead Management & Nurture: Maintain and update leads in HubSpot, tagging by type and tracking stage. Draft and schedule follow-up emails after events, meetings, or referrals. Identify warm leads and maintain ongoing engagement processes. Keep the "hot leads" dashboard current and actionable
Proposal & Deck Support: Maintain and update pitch decks, capability statements, and business development templates. Support custom proposal preparation, including design, content development, and refinement
Reporting & Strategic Insight: Produce monthly business development dashboards tracking event performance, HubSpot pipeline activity, content metrics, win/loss rates, and referral summaries. Make recommendations on what's working and where efforts should shift

Required Skills and Experience

We value skills, experience, and alignment of values. Our selection process focuses on demonstrated abilities, not specific degrees or credentials.

To thrive in this role, you will need:

A minimum of 2 years of experience in business development, marketing, or operations coordination. Experience in consulting, government, or non-profit sectors is a strong asset
Proven ability to write compelling, professional content across multiple formats (LinkedIn posts, newsletters, email sequences, event invitations, post-event recaps) with a strong understanding of business development messaging
Experience with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms, including lead tracking, pipeline management, tagging systems, and reporting dashboard creation
Strong design capabilities with experience creating and maintaining brand-consistent collateral (pitch decks, proposals, capability statements, using design tools)
Analytical skills with experience tracking metrics, measuring ROI, and producing data-driven reports and strategic recommendations
Experience developing and executing content calendars and marketing campaigns aligned with business development goals
Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end event logistics, including conference coordination
