About The Role
The purpose of the HPE Aruba Network Expert is to design and implement our client’s infrastructure which is built on HPE Aruba switches, access-points and gateways. Working in partnership with vendors and partners, this role will provide high performing and reliable solutions to meet our client’s needs.
What You’ll Be Doing
Act as technical authority for the design and delivery of a switching and wireless network based on HPE Aruba.
Ensure that the network design meets the customer requirements and adhere to network design & security guidelines.
Ensure quality of low-level design documentation, proof of concept collateral, network configurations, IP address space throughout the life cycle of the network.
Work with cyber security colleagues, internal and external to define security best practice principles ensuring these are implemented throughout the design, and operation of the networks.
Input and review pre-sales proposals providing technical expertise and costing inputs as necessary.
Work with vendors and supply chain to manage our services in accordance with our supply chain principles.
Support the installation, configuration and optimisation of the customer’s new network.
Work with the Delivery and Service & Operations teams in the operationalisation of the existing deployments.
Install network services such as a DHCP and NTP servers, SIEM/logging tools as well as performance testers such as Ixia, iPerf and Ostinato.
Deploy Ansible and create playbooks to automate HPE Aruba network devices via the API moves, adds, changes and deletions (MACDs) tasks such as configure a range of switch ports, set interface descriptions, etc.
Setting up ZTP so any new switches deployed are automatically provisioned.
Installing certificate authority (CA) servers for EAP-TLS certificate-based authentication for wired and wireless clients.
Creating micro-segmentation on HPE Aruba network devices to enforce communication rules between different hosts and roles.
Create Python scripts that call APIs on the HPE Aruba network elements to query information such as switch port status, wireless clients’ signal strength, etc.
Advise and recommend tooling and software that aid in the design process.
What You’ll Bring
IP network and Wi-Fi experience and certification across multiple vendors, primarily on HPE Aruba network products, with Cisco and Juniper secondary.
Confidence to manage conflicting priorities and work at pace.
Strong conceptual as well as technical experience and the natural ability to solve complex problems as they arise to meet the needs of the customer.
Ability to advise key stakeholders on the different network components, services and options available to operate consistently to meet SLA’s.
Relevant network architecture experience gained in a managed LAN environment, whether in an MSP, SI and Telco.
An understanding of technologies above and below in the stack; e.g. facilities (e.g. power), fibre, optical networks, applications, systems gained through a proven track record in network architecture.
An understanding of the wider management of networks in the 21st century: network management, automation, reporting tools.
Proven consulting skills and experience of working in large complex environments delivering Infrastructure transformation/network programmes.
Ability to gain customer confidence in the areas of technical ability and network design leadership.
Essential Attributes
Fluent in both French (CEFR C2) and English (CEFR C1/C2).
Experience in design and implementation of HPE Aruba networking transformations, including wireless and switching.
Experience deploying networking equipment across campus-based environments.
Experience delivering HPE Aruba ClearPass solutions and integration with identity providers.
Experience working with Cisco switching technology.
Up-to-date accreditations in HPE Aruba Networking.
Ansible experience in creating playbooks calling HPE Aruba APIs as well as CLI methods such as SSH.
Python scripting for network management.
Microsegmentation experience on HPE Aruba Network devices.
Experience transitioning a networking transformation from project into operational support.
Knowledge of technical change control processes, including writing and presenting technical changes for approval.
Experience drafting requirements documentation for the to-be delivered network.
Rich history of authoring low level documents, test plans, and success criteria for customer sign off.
Experience in chairing low level workshops and technical requirements gathering forums offering leadership and guidance on best practices.
Must Have- HPE, Aruba, Aviation Industry experience.
