Our current provision includes OTHM Level 3 Diplomas in Business Studies, Business Management, and Health and Social Care.

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our growing academic team in Milton Keynes. The postholder will play a key role in delivering engaging, learner-focused teaching and assessment, supporting student achievement, and contributing to the School’s academic and quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lectures, seminars, and workshops for Health and Social Care programmes (currently Level 3 OTHM, with potential future higher levels).
Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments that align with awarding body requirements.
Support students in developing academic, professional, and employability skills.
Conduct formative and summative assessments, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate records.
Participate in internal verification and standardisation activities to ensure quality and consistency.
Contribute to the ongoing development of course materials and teaching strategies.
Engage in staff meetings, training, and curriculum reviews.
Uphold safeguarding, equality, and data protection standards in line with institutional policies.

Requirements

Essential:

A degree in Health and Social Care or a related discipline.
Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, DET, or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
Assessing qualifications (e.g. CAVA)
Experience teaching or assessing within Health and Social Care at Level 3 or above
Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills.
Commitment to inclusive and student-centred teaching.

Desirable:

Experience with OTHM or other UK awarding bodies.
Experience in blended or online learning delivery.
