Job Description
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for providing proactive leadership and strategic planning for company and products. This position develops, executes, and communicates strategic program initiatives to maximize revenue for multi-product line and provides leadership on strategic initiatives, leveraging a collaborative, cross-functional approach.
Establishes product strategy, including the development and execution of initiatives to improve business efficiencies and financial results.
Engages appropriate cross-functional leaders to develop strategies that support overall product strategy to ensure the successful implementation of new Walden programs, products and services designed to drive growth.
Leads cross-functionally, partnering with (Marketing, Field Operations, Central Services, Instruction, academics on new and continuing business needs.
Partners closely with Field leadership to develop the sales and channel strategy and ensure that needs and issues are effectively anticipated and addressed, and appropriate actions are taken to solve issues.
Supervises and facilitates the sharing and systemizing of local and regional best practices nationally.
Leads and drives accountability and workflows to ensure projects are completed on schedule, on budget and on target. Anticipates product issues and adjusts proactively.
Directs the work of external business partners on issues impacting the development and delivery of the product.
Provides leadership in innovation and new product development. Builds collaborative relationships with the Curriculum Development team.
Provides guidance and insight into the development, communication, and deployment of national marketing communications, support and promotional strategies and tools. Understands how the website should be leveraged to ensure product success and works with marketing to implement improvements.
Supervises the creation and delivery of national training forums for program updates, new products, and services to ensure internal customers understand product offerings and can represent the business appropriately.
Collaborates with international business operations and partners to extend products and services internationally where applicable.
Develops and leverages relationships with industry leaders and governing bodies to increase visibility and success of product.
Partners with curriculum development to establish the curriculum strategy and plan.
Develops and manages plans to gather actionable market intelligence (eg, consumers, competitors, firms, universities, and societies) to improve product and product positioning.
Engages and manages resources that serve as liaisons for professional organizations. Collaborates with these resources to establish service level agreements with outside organizations. Monitors action plans to ensure desired activities and responsibilities are followed and the organization is represented appropriately.
Leads other projects and duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of product management, product marketing, or related experience.
Knowledge of adult, online higher education market, or related industry preferred.
Familiarity with Pragmatic Institute Framework preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills, B2C and B2B copywriting preferred.
Superior team skills with proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate successfully with all organizational functions and levels with emphasis on building strong, productive relationships.
Proficient in financial and business analysis, data mining, and budget development and management.
Must possess excellent problem solving and strategic thinking abilities, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
Demonstrated ability in managing complex issues, preferably in a dynamic, high-pressure culture, with diplomacy and enthusiasm.
