Power System Engineer – Generation (EMS/SCADA)

This role focuses on supporting and improving energy management systems for power generation and grid control. You’ll help manage real-time operations and enhance system performance for critical infrastructure.

What you’ll do

Support and optimise EMS applications for Generation (AGC, Load Forecasting, Economic Dispatch, Power Flow)
Conduct performance tuning, patching and security updates on EMS systems
Analyse and resolve application and communication issues
Participate in system upgrades, model validation and testing activities
Work with control room teams to maintain system availability and reliability

What you’ll bring

5+ years’ experience with EMS or SCADA systems (GE Reliance, AEMS, OSI, Siemens, ABB, Schneider)
Understanding of generation and control system applications (AGC, Load Forecasting, State Estimator)
Knowledge of communication protocols (IEC 60870, DNP3, ICCP, Modbus, OPC)
Strong background in C/C++/Java and SQL
Experience across Linux and Windows environments
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
