About the Role

We are seeking an experienced PSA Engineer (DTS) to join a leading technology and transformation project within the energy and utilities sector. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining, configuring, and optimising Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) environments.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring high availability and reliability of critical EMS applications while contributing to ongoing development, model validation, and defect resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Gather requirements and define Epics and User Stories.
Administer and optimise EMS applications (preferably GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) or AEMS).
Configure and troubleshoot protocols such as ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus, and data modelling (XML/JSON).
Perform model validation and event creation for Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS).
Implement fixes, patches, and upgrades in live customer systems.
Conduct code reviews, deployments, and testing activities.
Support and restore EMS services during incidents.

Skills & Experience Required

5+ years’ experience in Power System Applications (Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, AGC, DTS).
Strong technical understanding of EMS/SCADA systems and related applications.
Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases.
Experience with C/C++, PERL, Shell scripting, or SQL scripting.
Familiarity with simulation tools (Simulated RTU/IED/Console).
Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in troubleshooting complex EMS systems.

Desirable

Experience with GE XA21, eTerra, or AEMS platforms.
Hands-on experience with DTS, ADMS, or SCADA.
Exposure to QTest or Grip tools.
Strong understanding of electrical transmission modelling.
