System Controller (Contract)

Client

Our client is a major UK-based renewable energy developer, currently delivering one of Europe’s most advanced offshore wind projects. They are looking for a System Controller to join the project operations team, supporting system coordination, data integrity, and real-time operational readiness.

Terms

Location: UK – hybrid (office/site/remote split)
Duration: 6-month initial contract, extensions expected
Engagement: Outside IR35
Start: Immediate / November 2025

Role

The System Controller will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and optimising operational systems across the offshore wind project’s digital environment. You’ll work closely with engineering, IT, and control room teams to ensure system stability, data accuracy, and compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities include coordinating control system configurations, supporting integration between engineering and enterprise platforms (such as SAP and SCADA systems), and maintaining process documentation and incident response procedures.

Requirements

Proven experience as a System Controller, Control Systems Engineer, or Operations Systems Specialist
Background in renewable energy, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure preferred
Experience with system monitoring, data logging, and configuration control tools
Understanding of SCADA, DCS, or networked industrial systems
Knowledge of SAP integration or asset management systems advantageous
Strong analytical mindset with excellent coordination and communication skills
Certifications: CompEx / ECS / relevant IT or systems certifications (e.g. ITIL, GWO, or similar)
